Review Policy

REVIEW METHOD

Review and Comparison Policy

Products are evaluated by the job they need to perform, not by popularity alone.

Standard Evaluation Fields

  • Best use case
  • Sound and workflow
  • Included content
  • Operating-system and plugin-format support
  • Required host or sampler version
  • Ease of installation
  • Documentation and English-language support
  • Licence and commercial-use notes
  • Price checked date and demo availability
  • Strengths, limitations and alternatives

Comparison Fairness

Whenever practical, audio tools in the same comparison use the same MIDI phrase, approximate loudness and a clearly described signal chain. Raw and processed examples are separated.

Scores

Scores are optional. A recommendation must explain who the product is for and when another product is a better choice.
